Product Introduction – Euro Raspberry is a hybrid white Sudan grass, also known as Sorghum sudanense or Sudan hybrid fodder grass. It is a fast-growing green fodder crop that provides nutritious and palatable fodder for cows, buffaloes, goats, and other livestock.

Climate and Soil – A warm and dry climate is suitable for this crop. The ideal temperature range is 25–35°C. Light loamy soil to black soil is suitable, with an ideal pH range of 6.0–7.5.

Land Preparation – First, make the soil fine and friable. During final land preparation, apply 5–10 tons of farmyard manure or compost. If these are not available, Urogreen Bazigar @ 3–5 kg per acre can be used, or Bazigar/POSHAN can be applied as top dressing. Maintain adequate soil moisture.

Seed and Varieties – Use a seed rate of 10–20 kg per acre (depending on region and conditions). If broadcasting is practiced, a higher seed rate may be required.

Seed and Varieties – Use a seed rate of 10–20 kg per acre (depending on region and conditions). If broadcasting is practiced, a higher seed rate may be required.

Organic Option – Treat the seed with Trichoderma harzianum before sowing.

Sowing Time –
• Summer sowing: February to April
• Kharif sowing: June to July
• Rabi sowing: October to November
(Suitable as per regional conditions)

Method of Sowing – Maintain a row spacing of 25–30 cm and sow seeds at a depth of 2–3 cm. Cover lightly with soil and give light irrigation.

Irrigation – Give the first irrigation immediately after sowing. Thereafter, irrigate regularly at 7–10 day intervals. During the rainy season, irrigate as required.

Fertilizer and Nutrient Management –
Basal dose: Apply DAP 50 kg or 12:32:16 @ 50 kg per acre along with Urea 25 kg per acre, and Urogreen Josh @ 3 kg per acre, which is beneficial.

Top dressing: After the first cutting, apply 25–30 kg urea + 2 kg Euro Nimex + 500 g Bazigar per acre. This helps in producing dense and juicy green fodder.

Harvesting – The first cutting should be done 40–45 days after sowing, when plant height reaches 1–1.2 meters. Subsequent cuttings can be done every 25–30 days. With proper water and nutrient management, 5–6 cuttings per season can be obtained from this variety.

Yield – Green fodder yield of 250–300 quintals per acre and dry matter yield of 60–70 quintals per acre can be obtained.

Special Benefits – This is a fast-growing, multi-cut variety containing 9–11% protein. The fodder is juicy, easily palatable for animals, and remains tolerant even under drought conditions.
